Some of my favorite treasures are the linens that I inherited from my grandmother. Each placemat, napkin, towel or pillowcase was embellished with Hemstitching and a Satin Stitch monogram. Today's busy life-style makes any needlework a rare treasure. Adding Hardanger to an afghan or hemstitching a towel speaks of a gentler way of life.
